A real wedding story from Central Indiana and why the coffee cart was the most-talked-about detail of the night.
There’s a moment at every wedding when guests start to really settle in: when the formality of the ceremony gives way to laughter, dancing, and the kind of conversations that go on longer than anyone planned. At a beautiful lavender farm wedding in Mooresville, Indiana this past May, that moment happened at the coffee cart.
If you’ve been wondering whether a wedding coffee bar is worth it for your Central Indiana celebration, let us walk you through exactly how this one came together and why every single guest was talking about it by the end of the night.
It All Started with a Zoom Call in January
Great weddings don’t happen overnight, and neither does great coffee service. We started planning this event all the way back in January, giving us nearly five months to get every detail right. That timeline matters more than you might think, especially when custom elements are involved.
Our first step was a one-on-one Zoom call with the bride, where we walked through exactly what coffee catering for weddings looks like from our end. We covered everything: how the service works, what the setup looks like, and what kinds of options couples can choose from.
One of the things that immediately caught her attention was our open bar style approach. Rather than a traditional ticketed system or pre-set drink list, guests are free to order what they want, explore the menu, and even come back for more. For a relaxed, outdoor lavender farm setting, it was a perfect match.
She also loved the idea of signature drinks: one for the bride, one for the groom. More on those in a minute, because they were genuinely the highlight of the menu.
Custom Branding That Matched the Wedding Aesthetic
Once she put down her deposit, we got to work on something most coffee vendors don’t offer: custom branding.
We pulled her invitation fonts and colors and used them to create two custom design elements:
- Cup stickers printed with their last name, so every drink felt personal
- A cart sign reading Conrad Café, displayed on the front of our white, neutral-toned cart

That last detail matters more than people realize. Our cart is intentionally designed to blend into a variety of aesthetics, and at a lavender farm with soft, romantic styling, it looked like it had always been there. If you’ve seen coffee carts that look awkward or out of place at weddings, that’s usually a styling mismatch. Ours fits.
Tip for couples: When researching a coffee vendor for your wedding, ask whether they offer custom branding and whether their equipment matches your venue’s aesthetic. It makes a bigger difference in photos than you’d expect.
The Menu: Four Drinks, Each with a Story
This is the part we love most, and honestly the part that made the biggest impression on guests.
Through a series of back-and-forth emails, we worked with the couple to develop a menu of four signature drinks, each one named after someone (or something) they love:
🐱 The Meow: A Honey Latte (Café de Miel)
Named for their cat, this warm and lightly sweet drink was a crowd-pleaser for guests who wanted something approachable and cozy. The notes from the honey were a natural complement to the lavender surroundings, then topped with cinnamon.
🐾 The Aussie: Salted Caramel Mocha
A nod to their Australian Shepherd, this one was rich, indulgent, and exactly what you want when you’re celebrating. It brought the comfort-food energy that balanced out some of the more adventurous options.
💜 Schyler’s Lavender Latte
Named for the bride herself and inspired directly by the venue, this drink was almost too fitting. A lavender latte at a lavender farm? Guests went absolutely wild for it, and more than a few came back for a second.
☕ Lucas’ Shaken Espresso: The Party Trick
The groom’s drink had a built-in moment. We shook the espresso in a cocktail shaker tableside, creating a beautiful, velvety milk texture right in front of guests. It became a mini performance, and people genuinely lined up to watch it happen. It’s the kind of small detail that makes a coffee cart for weddings feel like an experience rather than just a service.
Day-Of Setup: Small Footprint, Big Impact
One of the most common concerns we hear from couples and venues across the Indianapolis and Carmel area is about space and logistics. How much room does the setup take? Do you need special hookups? How early do you arrive?
Here’s how the Mooresville wedding went:
- We arrived one hour before service for setup: no stress, no scrambling
- Our footprint was just 6 feet by 6 feet, tucked neatly next to the old house on the property
- The only requirement was proximity to a standard electrical outlet… no generators, no specialty power needed
- Teardown at the end of the night was quick and discreet, so guests transitioned seamlessly into dinner and dancing without any interruption
That kind of smooth, low-profile operation is something we’ve built intentionally into how we work. The best coffee catering for weddings shouldn’t feel like a vendor intrusion, it should feel like a natural part of the event.
What Guests Said (And Why It Worked)
The feedback from this wedding was something we’ll remember for a long time. A few themes came up again and again:
“I loved that the drinks were named after people I actually know.” Guests felt like they were in on something personal. Choosing “Schyler’s Lavender Latte” felt different than ordering a generic latte, it was a little celebration of the couple within a celebration of the couple.
“The drink sizes were perfect for trying more than one.” We serve reasonable, intentional portions, not venti-sized cups that fill you up on the first order. Guests tried two or even three drinks over the course of the evening, which is exactly what an open bar experience should enable.
“Your baristas made the whole experience.” We brought three baristas to this event, and they did more than pull shots and steam milk. They chatted with guests, learned names, asked about how they knew the couple, and became part of the social fabric of the evening. For a celebration held at an intimate lavender farm in Central Indiana, that human connection was everything.
What The Bride Said Afterward
We so appreciate that the bride took the time and patience to leave such a kind review:
We had the pleasure of having them be our coffee caterer for our wedding and I can truly say we have never had better coffee. All of our guests loved every drink! I think everyone ended up with at least 3 different drinks because we couldn’t get enough. Actually devastated that they don’t have a physical location because we would be there every single day. They were also just a pleasure to work with, so kind, and took incredible care of us and our guests. If you have the chance, book them! We’re trying to find another event to host just so we can use them again!
Why a Coffee Bar Works Especially Well for Indiana Weddings
If you’re planning a wedding in Indianapolis, Carmel, or anywhere across Central Indiana, here’s something worth knowing: coffee bars work in every season, for every vibe.
Spring and fall weddings love the warmth and coziness factor. Summer weddings can lean into iced drinks and cold brew. Even winter events become a little more magical when guests can wrap their hands around a beautifully crafted latte with their name on the cup.
The lavender farm setting in Mooresville reminded us of something we already believe deeply: the best venues deserve vendors who match their energy. A handcrafted, locally-run wedding coffee bar fits that ethos perfectly… just like the farm itself.
